|a Nowadays, the demand of steel is increasing for developing countries especially in our country, Malaysia. Steel as main raw material in construction, the cost and the process of making steel is the main consideration. High demand of steel has brought critical issues to damaging our environmental and the cost of steel keep increasing. Through this, find a new raw material to replace steel in construction is a necessity for current stage. Bamboo is a potential material which can replace steel bar in construction. Bamboo can easily solve the problem of high cost and environmental damage during process. Tensile strength and durability of bamboo will be show in this research. This research will focus on Tensile Test and Flexural Test to determine could the bamboo sticks replace steel bar in reinforced concrete beam. Tensile Test will test on 10mm bamboo sticks and R10 steel bar to compare their tensile strength. Total nine Grade 30 concrete cubes will be test by Compression Test on day 7, 14 and 28. Three bamboo reinforced concrete beam and three steel reinforced concrete beam will be test by Flexural Test on day28. T10 steel bar acts as longitudinal bar and R6 steel bar act as links in steel reinforced concrete beam, 10mm bamboo act as longitudinal bar and 6mm bamboo slats act as links in bamboo steel reinforced concrete beam. Several conclusion and valid recommendation are made based on the in depth analysis of results to further improve the studies.
