<subfield code="a">Plastic pollution is one of the most critical problem of Earth encountered, develop the way to reuse plastic is one of the best way to solve plastic pollution. Utilize plastic waste as construction material enable to reduce plastic pollution, enhance soil properties and reduce construction cost. This study is based on determining the engineering properties of laterite soil in SIME DARBY Serenia City. The main purpose of this study is to obtain the effect of plastic waste added as soil stabilizer reacted on the OMC, MDD and UCS of soil sample. The untreated laterite soil comes with moisture content at 15.49%. Particle size distribution curve shows that the soil is well graded with proportions of aggregate less than 15%, sand and fine grains in the range more than 50%. The Plastic Limit, Liquid Limit and Plastic Index are 21.72%, 32.52% and 11.72% respectively. Plasticity chart plot les above A-line which indicate that soil classified as CL (Low Plasticity). The untreated laterite soil had optimum moisture content = 16% and maximum dry density = 1.89 g/cm3 and UCS = 87.28 kN/m2. Added plastic waste as stabilizer with proportion 0.15%, 0.30%, 0.45% and 0.60% by the weight of soil and with dimension 10mm x 10mm and 15mm x 15mm can increase the result of OMC, MDD and UCS. The optimum percentage and dimension of plastic waste added is 0.45% and 10mm x 10mm. From the obtained results, the optimum percentage and dimension of plastic waste can increase the OMC by 1%, MDD by 0.01 g/cm3 and UCS by77 kN/m2. From the observation of the obtained results, as the percentage and dimension of plastic waste exceed certain proportions and sizes can reduce the effect. Calculations from experimental reading with necessary graphs and tables are summarized in Chapter 3 and 4. The results are presented in Chapter 4 with discussion. Each citation made are included in References. In depth data and tables are included in Appendix Table A to E.</subfield>
