<subfield code="a">The purpose of this research is to study the mechanical properties of rattan fiber reinforced concrete, in order to study the workability, flexural strength and compressive strength of rattan fiber reinforced concrete. To determine the optimum rattan fiber content as reinforcement in fiber reinforced concrete several tests had been carried out. Slump test has been carried out to determine the workability of rattan fiber reinforced concrete. There were total 36 concrete cubes with size of 150 mm X 150 mm X 150 mm are cast in this research to test the compressive strength of the rattan fiber reinforced concrete. 8 rattan fiber reinforced concrete beam with the size of 150 mm X 150 mm X 750 mm also cast to determine the flexural strength by adding the rattan fiber. The result of the slump test shows that the more fiber content in the fresh concrete the lower of the workability of fresh concrete. The compressive strength by adding the rattan fiber can reach 33.64 MPa. And flexural strength can reach 2.45 MPa. The compressive strength of the rattan fiber reinforced concrete had reached the target strength which is 30 MPa. There were several valid recommendations are made to further improve studies.</subfield>
